# Chat Interface

Find your way around channels via the web interface

Users can join and interact with Chat Channels via App or Web.

### App Download

To download and install the Sentinel App visit the following links.

### Web Interface

To access the web interface Chat Channel admins can launch channels from the console by clicking the 'Join' button. Note the join button will only show for channels they are a member of.

Alternatively, users can visit **/chat** from the sentinel console to see the Chat Channels web interface.

#### Side Menu

From the side bar menu you can see listed the Spaces you belong to.&#x20;

Click the name of a space to change to that space - your current space will be highlighted in yellow.

The channels list will show all the space channels you belong to.&#x20;

Simply click the channel name to start chatting in the channel of your choice.

#### Header Icons

The Channel header shows the following icons:

#### Channel Settings

This will reveal the settings menu where you can see more information about the channel.

#### Sending Messages

The footer section of the channel can be used to enter message text.

Type text into the auto expanding input and then press enter to submit the message.

Tip: Use **Shift** + **Enter** to add a new line without submitting the message.

#### Uploading Media

Alternatively drag a file on the message area and the file will upload automatically.

Uploaded image will show a thumbneail in the message window.

Hovering over the thumbnail will allow you to download or preview the image.

The green circle and 'CLEAN' text indicates the file has been scanned and is safe.
