# Creating Broadcasts
Create and configure a new Broadcast
To get started navigate to **/spaces/broadcasts**
### Create Broadcast
To create a broadcast follow these steps.

#### Click 'New Broadcast'

#### Enter Broadcast Details
Start by giving the broadcast an internal name identifier and a title.
The internal name is used for internal reference - it can be the same or different from the title.
The title is what will be shown to broadcasts recipients.

#### Choose Broadcast Methods
Select the ways you want the message to be sent.

To improve the delivery success - choose multiple sending methods.
Sometimes emails can be marked as spam, phones have low signal or devices have low battery.
Choosing multiple broadcast methods increases the chance the recipient will see the message via at least one of the available methods.

### Enter Message
Enter the message for each broadcast method type.
Some message types can accept basic html formatting e.g. Bold, Italic, Underline and Links

All links entered into the message input will be automatically linked for your convenience

Inapp/Email messages are limited to maximum 3000 characters (including formatting). Other message types are limited to 1000 characters.

### Select Broadcast Groups
You can now select any space groups to send the message.
This is a quick (optional) way to build up the broadcast recipient list.

If you prefer not to use groups for the recipient selection you can skip this sections
Recipients can be manually selected after broadcast creation in the configuration stage.

### Broadcast Question
If you want the broadcast recipients to answer a question this can be enabled.
Choose 'Yes' and enter the question now.
Otherwise choose 'No' and skip this section.

### Override Notification Preferences
All users can specify their [notificaton preferences](/sentinel-documentation/resources/profile-settings/notification-preferences.md) to decide and how they will be notified.
If they have decided not be notified via e.g. SMS any notification sent SMS will not be sent to them when a broadcast is triggered. As a system broadcaster it is possible to override this preference to ensure important messages are received. You can specify this override here.

It is recommended to only override notificaiton preferences in an emergency.

### In-App Notification Sound
If sending messages via the In App method - you can choose the notification sound that will be heard by App users when receiving a broadcast push notification.

### Click 'Save'
Finally click 'save' to create the broadcast.
You can now move on to review and further configure the broadcast before approving and triggering the sending of all notifications.
